Corporate & Social Responsibility

It is important to alphatech that we help improve the quality of life for families and our local community. We regularly make charitable donations and our directors and staff actively fund raise and take part in charitable events.

alphatech are recognised corporate supporters for two local charities My Sisters Place and Neoangels. We are delighted to be able to actively support these fabulous causes.

My Sisters Place is a specialist domestic abuse service based in central Middlesbrough. The charity supports over a thousand women a year through a range of challenges, choices and decisions.

As a feminist organisation, My Sisters place offers a confidential women only space to discuss woman’s concerns.
The charities purpose is:-

  • To deliver accessible, responsive, adaptable and effective services that are informed and evaluated by service users experiences promoting individual freedom and quality of life.
  • To explore new and innovative ways to address domestic violence issues with a range of partners, and share best practice locally.
  • To challenge inequality in access to safety, justice, health and well-being and campaign for change to shape future policy and practice.
  • To work with the wider community through education and community involvement to create a cultural shift in a zero tolerance of domestic abuse and better equip families to protect one another.

Neoangels is a small charity working to support families of preterm and poorly babies on the neonatal units at James Cook and North Tees hospitals. The charity has two key aims:

  • Neoangels aid the financial relief for families who have babies on the Neonatal wards. Research shows families spend an extra £282 a week when their baby is in hospital (Bliss Research). The charity contributes towards family travel expenses, parking costs, provide canteen food vouchers and emergency toiletry kits. They also provide families with emotional care through donations of milestone journals and cards, sibling presents and supporting a neonatal playgroup.
  • To aid the relief of sickness and the preservation of good health providing specialised equipment to care for premature and sick babies on the wards. Neoangels tirelessly fundraise and with guidance from the medical teams have donated incubators, stethoscopes, breast feeding chairs and breast pumps.

alphatech provides a practical ‘hot desk’ facility and IT support to help Neoangels keep their business costs to a minimum.
