What is Office 365 Backup?

Over recent years the adoption of Cloud services in day to day business has increased, as has our reliance on Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive. Keeping this Cloud-based data safe is just as important as backing up your physical machines.

Providing you with the ability to restore your business’ valuable information in a data loss scenario, total security, and complete peace of mind, Office 365 Backup is the much-needed final piece of your Office 365 jigsaw.

EVEN THE CLOUD SUFFERS DATA LOSS

Contrary to what many think, the Cloud does suffer data loss. It isn’t subject to all the same threats as your physical infrastructure (theft, fire, floods, etc), but it is still subject to accidental error – the biggest known cause of data loss.

If administrators delete files within SharePoint and OneDrive, they become unrecoverable, whilst files deleted by non-admin users go into the Recycle Bin and are unrecoverable after 186 days. This data loss, at best, will take a day or two to restore, cause business downtime, and result in unknown costs. At its worst, it could be completely unrecoverable causing an immeasurable about of damage to your company. Within Office 365 email, you’re able to set conditions for emails to be deleted automatically, but your chosen conditions might apply to emails that you didn’t expect. After going straight to your deleted mail, these would then be permanently deleted after 30 days. Users are also able to delete their entire mailbox, making it completely unrecoverable.

Office 365 Backup data restoration takes a matter of minutes, and the worry out of accidental error. Your Office 365 accounts are completely protected.

WHAT CAN I BACKUP?

With Office 365 Backup, you’re able to choose to backup your Exchange Mailbox data, and/or your OneDrive and SharePoint data. Office 365 Backup backs up all of the data in these areas so you don’t need to choose what data you need backed up. It’s worth noting that your SharePoint data will only be backed up once, even though it’s accessed by multiple users. So, if the SharePoint was accessible to 18 users, it would only be backed up once, not 18 times. This saves time and resources.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

Office 365 Backup has just one small monthly cost for unlimited backup. You can backup up to 6 times a day, and there’s an unlimited retention period. You can, if it’s important for your business, meet legal and compliance retention requirements easily.

SIMPLE TO SET-UP, SIMPLE TO RESTORE

You do not need any new hardware or software to use Office 365 Backup, and the setup process is simple. The restoration process is simple too with an instant one-click restore.
